The VL53L0X is a time-of-flight (ToF) ranging module with a precise ranging range of up to 2 meters. It features I2C interface communication and low power consumption. The VL53L0X is ST's second-generation FlightSense technology time-of-flight sensor. Unlike traditional ranging sensors, the VL53L0X uses ST's ToF technology, enabling distance measurement regardless of target color and reflectivity, and offering stronger anti-interference capabilities. It is eye-safe, a Class 1 laser device, and complies with the latest standard IEC 60825-1:2014. No additional optics are required.
The VL53L0X's sensing capabilities support a variety of applications, including gesture sensing or proximity detection for various innovative user interfaces, obstacle detection and avoidance systems for robotic vacuum cleaners and service robots, sensor panels for home appliances, user presence detection or power switch monitoring for laptops, and applications in drones and Internet of Things (IoT) products.
